The Gaggia Cadorna Prestige has an integrated milk carafe, four profiles and ceramic grinders. UK prices, specs, downsides and alternatives, checked 3 Oct 2026.

This Gaggia Cadorna Prestige review covers Gaggia’s milk-carafe bean-to-cup. Gaggia lists up to 15 drinks, four user profiles and ceramic grinders with 10 settings. We haven’t tested this in person. This review is based on Gaggia’s international product page for the Cadorna Prestige and its specifications, plus UK retailer listings and prices checked 3 Oct 2026. Read how we compare.
Gaggia Cadorna Prestige review: the short answer
Buy it if you mostly drink cappuccinos and lattes, share the machine with others, and want each person’s drinks saved. Gaggia lists four user profiles and an integrated milk carafe that froths at one touch.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants to control the machine from a phone. Gaggia doesn’t list an app or wi-fi.
Skip it if you’re happy with fewer settings and a smaller hopper. The Gaggia Magenta Prestige was from £549 at Coffee-Direct (silver, listed as EG6603/90), checked 3 Oct 2026. Gaggia Magenta Prestige: Check price at Amazon for Gaggia Magenta Prestige (opens in a new tab)
Who it isn’t for: anyone who mainly drinks espresso. You’d be paying for a milk carafe you rarely use.
What it costs right now
These are the prices we found:
- Coffee-Direct: Check price at Coffee-Direct. It was listed as available on 3 Oct 2026. Its listing gives the model code RI9604/01 and says its Gaggia machines come with a five-year Gaggia warranty. See it at Coffee-Direct
- Mr Bean2Cup: £718.92 including VAT at Mr Bean2Cup, checked 3 Oct 2026, shown as in stock, against an old price of £994.80. That listing includes a three-year warranty. See it at Mr Bean2Cup
We didn’t find it at Currys. Gaggia’s UK site blocked our checks, so the specs here come from Gaggia’s international site, and John Lewis’s site didn’t respond.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants to buy from a big high-street chain. We found it only at specialists.
Drinks and the milk carafe
Gaggia’s product page lists up to 15 drinks:
- Coffee: ristretto, espresso, espresso lungo, coffee (café crema) and americano.
- Milk drinks: cappuccino, cappuccino XL, café au lait, cortado, latte macchiato, latte macchiato XL and flat white.
- Other: frothed milk, hot water and an over ice coffee.
Mr Bean2Cup’s listing describes 14 drinks and doesn’t mention over ice coffee. That may mean UK stock is the version without it, so check the listing if iced coffee matters to you.
Gaggia lists a 0.6-litre milk carafe that froths the milk twice. It also lists an automatic milk circuit cleaning cycle and says you can store the carafe in the fridge. In its FAQ, Gaggia suggests a daily Quick Clean of the milk circuit after milk drinks and a monthly Deep Clean with milk cleaning powder.
Gaggia’s FAQ also says you can’t brew two cups at once for americano, hot water or milk drinks.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants two lattes at once. Two-cup brewing doesn’t cover milk drinks.
Grinder, strength and profiles
Gaggia lists:
- 100% ceramic grinders with 10 settings
- Optiaroma, which sets the amount of coffee per cup across five levels
- three coffee temperature levels
- adjustable coffee and milk lengths
- pre-brewing
- four user profiles
Its FAQ says you can save each drink once per profile, with one set of settings. You can only change the grind while the machine is grinding.
There’s a ground coffee option for decaf. Gaggia notes it isn’t available for flat white or with the two-cup option.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants two versions of the same drink in one profile. Gaggia says a new save overwrites the old one.
Size, capacity and cleaning
Gaggia lists:
- Water tank: 1.5 litres, removable from the front.
- Bean container: 300g.
- Pucks container: holds 10 used pucks.
- Size and weight: 26 x 38 x 44cm (W x H x D) and 9.6kg.
- Power: 1,900W.
It lists automatic rinsing, milk circuit cleaning and descaling cycles, compatibility with Brita Intenza+ filters, and a removable brew group that you wash under the tap without soap. The pull-out espresso tray raises an espresso cup closer to the spout, which Gaggia says avoids splashes. Spout height runs from 70mm with the tray to 155mm without it. Who it isn’t for: heavy users. Ten pucks and a 1.5-litre tank mean frequent emptying and refilling.
Downsides
- Small tank: 1.5 litres.
- No smart features: Gaggia doesn’t list any.
- Retail availability: we found it only at specialist retailers, not at Currys.
- Drink count varies by version: Gaggia lists over ice coffee, but one UK retailer’s listing doesn’t.
Alternatives
- Gaggia Magenta Prestige: check price at Coffee-Direct (silver, listed as EG6603/90, and black RI8702/01). Gaggia lists 13 drinks including over ice coffee, a 0.5-litre milk carafe, a 1.8-litre tank, a 150g bean container and 5 grind settings. It doesn’t list user profiles.
- Philips 5500 (EP5546/70): £669.99 at Currys, checked 3 Oct 2026, prices can change. Philips lists its LatteGo milk system. Philips Series 5500 LatteGo EP5546/70: See it at Currys for Philips Series 5500 LatteGo EP5546/70 (opens in a new tab)
- Philips 2200: a much cheaper milk option. See our Philips 2200 review. Philips Series 2200 EP2220/10: See it at John Lewis for Philips Series 2200 EP2220/10 (opens in a new tab)

Who it isn’t for: the Magenta Prestige isn’t for households that want saved profiles or a 300g hopper, and the Philips machines aren’t for anyone set on buying a Gaggia.
