See every pick at a glance

If you’re comparing the Philips 2300 vs 3300, you’re choosing between two of Philips’ cheaper bean-to-cup ranges that share most of their hardware. The Series 2300 EP2339/40 is £369.99 at Currys and the Series 3300 EP3347/90 is £569.99 at Currys, both in stock and both with the LatteGo milk system (checked 3 Oct 2026). We haven’t tested this in person. Our verdict is based on Philips UK’s specs, Currys’ listings and UK prices checked 3 Oct 2026. Read how we compare.

Quick answer: on Philips UK’s spec sheets, the Philips 2300 and 3300 LatteGo models share the same grinder, bean container, tank, pump and size. The 3300 EP3347/90 adds latte macchiato and iced coffee, and cost £200 more at Currys on 3 Oct 2026 (£569.99 against £369.99 for the 2300 EP2339/40). Buy the 2300 if espresso, coffee and cappuccino are enough; buy the 3300 only if you’ll use the extra drinks.

On Philips UK’s spec sheets, the two LatteGo models list the same ceramic grinder with 12 settings, 275g bean container, 1.8-litre tank, 15-bar pump, 1500W power and 8kg weight. The difference is mostly the drinks menu.

Drinks and controls

This is where the two ranges differ.

  • 2300 EP2339/40: Philips UK’s spec table lists espresso, coffee, cappuccino and hot water. Its headline says four drinks, though the same table gives three pre-programmed drinks, and one feature line mentions latte macchiato. We’ve gone with the spec table. Currys lists the same four drink types.
  • 3300 EP3347/90: Philips UK lists espresso, coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato, iced coffee and hot water, with five pre-programmed drinks. Philips says the iced coffee setting brews at a slower flow and lower temperature, for pouring over ice.

Both have a touch display with coloured icons and Philips’ My Coffee Choice, which adjusts strength, length and milk froth level. Currys lists three strength settings on both.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who only drinks espresso and black coffee. Both menus will feel like overkill, and the Philips 2200 is cheaper.

Milk: LatteGo on both, or a steam wand on the EP3326/90

The EP2339/40 and EP3347/90 both use LatteGo. Philips UK lists a 0.26-litre milk container with two parts and no tubes, which you can rinse under the tap or put in the dishwasher, and says it works with plant-based milk. LatteGo froths and pours the milk as part of the drink.

The EP3326/90 has what Philips calls a classic milk frother, a steam wand that you use with a jug. Philips UK lists a warm milk option on this model.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who hates cleaning milk parts. LatteGo still needs a rinse after milky drinks.

Specs side by side

  • Grinder: ceramic, 12 settings on all three (Philips UK).
  • Beans and water: 275g bean container and 1.8-litre tank on all three.
  • Pump and power: 15 bar and 1500W.
  • Size: Philips UK lists all three as 433mm long, 246mm wide and 371mm high, and 8kg.
  • Water filter: Philips includes an AquaClean filter and says that, changed when prompted, it means no descaling for up to 5,000 cups.
  • Noise: Philips UK lists SilentBrew (40% quieter than earlier models, by its figure) and Quiet Mark certification on both the 2300 EP2339/40 and the 3300 EP3347/90, and Currys also lists Quiet Mark on the EP2339/40.
  • Warranty: two years (Philips UK).

Who it isn’t for: shallow worktops. At 433mm long by Philips’ figures, measure first.

Smart features: check before you pay for them

Currys lists wi-fi and the HomeID app for the 3300 EP3347/90. Philips UK’s own spec table for the same model says “Connectivity: No”, though its feature list mentions the HomeID app for recipes and support. Because the two sources disagree, don’t buy the 3300 for wi-fi without checking with the retailer.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants to control their coffee machine from their phone. We couldn’t confirm that from Philips.

Who each one suits

Downsides

  • Confusing drinks counts. Philips’ headlines and spec tables don’t always agree.
  • Similar hardware. The grinder, tank, pump and size are the same on Philips UK’s pages, so the 3300 premium is mostly for drinks.
  • Smart features unclear. Currys and Philips disagree on the 3300’s connectivity.
  • Stock varies by code. The 2300 EP2336/40 was out of stock at Philips UK.
