Whittard coffee: what's in the range and what to buy

Whittard of Chelsea sells single-origin and blended coffee ground to order, plus coffee bags, pods and gift sets. Here's what's in the range, what it costs today and how to choose a grind.

Whittard coffee covers a wide range: nearly 20 blends and single origins sold loose and ground to order, pre-packed bags of beans and ground coffee, coffee bags, flavoured coffee, Nespresso-compatible pods and gift sets. This guide explains what’s in the Whittard coffee range, what it cost on Whittard’s UK shop on 3 Oct 2026, how the grind-to-order options work and which products suit gifting. We haven’t tested this in person. Everything here comes from Whittard’s own product listings and the prices shown on the date we checked. Read how we compare.

Whittard coffee: the short answer

Buy the loose coffee if you want to choose an origin and have it ground for your brewer. Most come in 125g, 250g, 500g and 1kg, as beans or ground for cafetière, filter, espresso or Turkish coffee.

Who it isn’t for: anyone hoping a bigger bag will cut the price per kilo. On the listings we checked, a kilo costs exactly eight times the 125g price.

Choose the coffee bags if you want proper ground coffee with no kit. Whittard’s House Blend and San Agustin Colombia bags are individually wrapped.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants the cheapest everyday coffee. Whittard House Blend works out at £44 a kilo, while Taylors’ 200g packs were £28.75 a kilo at Morrisons on the same day.

Pick a gift set if you’re buying for someone else. The Coffees of the World set (£34.95 at Whittard, checked 3 Oct 2026) has nine coffees from nine origins.

Who it isn’t for: anyone buying for an espresso machine owner. The set is ground, so check the grind suits their kit.

The loose coffee range and prices

Whittard sells its core coffees loose, ground to order. On 3 Oct 2026 there were two main price points, plus one premium outlier:

  • £5.50 for 125g: Whittard House Blend, Breakfast Blend, Café Français, Santos and Java, Bourbon Espresso and Burundi.
  • £6.50 for 125g: single origins and specials including Monsoon Malabar, Ethiopia Yirgacheffe, Kenya Peaberry, Sumatra Mandheling, Guatemala Elephant, San Agustin Colombia, Old Brown Java, Mocha Djimmah, Papua New Guinea and Evening Reserve, plus a seasonal Festive Coffee.
  • £29.95 for 125g: Jamaica Blue Mountain (£59.90 for 250g).

Prices scale in a straight line. The House Blend, for example, was £11.00 for 250g, £22.00 for 500g and £44.00 for 1kg, all at Whittard, checked 3 Oct 2026.

Whittard House Blend is the brand’s signature: a mix of Brazilian coffee from Minas Gerais and Colombian coffee from Nariño, described as smooth and full-bodied with smoky chestnut and dark chocolate notes. Whittard tags it as a dark roast.

Monsoon Malabar is one of the more distinctive options. Whittard explains that the beans, grown in Karnataka, India, are exposed to monsoon winds until they swell, then roasted dark, giving woody, smoky notes.

Who it isn’t for: anyone wanting roast dates or detailed farm data. Whittard’s listings focus on origin stories and flavour notes rather than technical detail.

Grind options: which to choose

Every loose coffee we checked offered five choices: whole beans, or ground for cafetière, filter, espresso or Turkish coffee.

  • Beans if you have a grinder. Our guide to burr grinders under £100 covers the options.
  • Cafetière for a coarse grind that suits a French press.
  • Filter for drip machines and pour-over.
  • Espresso for a fine grind for machines and moka pots.
  • Turkish for the very fine, powdery grind used in a cezve.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who switches between brewers. Ground coffee is set for one method, so beans and a grinder give more flexibility.

Coffee bags, pods and flavoured coffee

  • Coffee bags: House Blend (£5.50) and San Agustin Colombia (£5.95), both at Whittard, checked 3 Oct 2026. Whittard says the San Agustin pack has ten individually wrapped, fully compostable bags, and suggests brewing for three to five minutes. There’s also a decaf coffee bag (£5.95) made with a water-only decaffeination process.
  • Pods: Guatemala Elephant, Hazelnut and Vanilla Nespresso-compatible pods at £6.00 a pack at Whittard, checked 3 Oct 2026. Whittard advises checking your machine before buying. For more Nespresso-compatible choices, see our Cru Kafé pods guide.
  • Flavoured ground coffee: £9.95 a pack at Whittard, checked 3 Oct 2026, in flavours including Amaretto, Hazelnut, Vanilla, Salted Caramel and Chocolate Brownie, plus a limited-edition Pumpkin Spice.

We didn’t find Whittard instant coffee on 3 Oct 2026; its instant range was tea-based.

Who it isn’t for: anyone comparing pod prices closely. We couldn’t see the number of pods per pack, so check before you compare.

Whittard coffee gifts

Whittard sells plenty of gift sets, and its coffee gifts on 3 Oct 2026 included:
