Krups Evidence vs Sensation: what the Evidence adds
The Sensation is Krups' simple bean-to-cup with a steam nozzle; the Evidence range adds one-touch milk drinks. Here's how they differ and what we could find in stock on 3 Oct 2026.

If you’re weighing up Krups Evidence vs Sensation, the short version is that the Sensation is the simpler, more traditional machine and the Evidence range is the one that makes milky drinks for you. The Sensation has a manual steam nozzle and four coffee buttons. The Evidence models add Krups’ one-touch milk system, which can make two cappuccinos at once, plus more drinks and a bigger tank. We haven’t tested this in person. This comparison is based on Krups UK’s product pages and the UK stock and prices we could check on 3 Oct 2026. Read how we compare.
A warning before you get attached to either: these machines were hard to buy in the UK when we checked. Krups UK doesn’t show a price on its own pages, Currys didn’t list either range, and we couldn’t verify a UK price for the Sensation at all.
Krups Evidence vs Sensation: the short answer
Get an Evidence model if you want cappuccinos and lattes at the touch of a button. The Evidence Eco-Design (EA897B40) was the only one we found in stock, at North x South; check price there.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants to buy from a big high-street name. We found it only at two small independent retailers.
Choose the Sensation if you mostly drink espresso, long coffee or filter-style coffee and are happy to froth milk yourself with a steam nozzle.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants one-touch milk drinks. The Sensation doesn’t make them.
Skip both if you need a machine this week from a major retailer. A widely stocked alternative such as the Philips 2200 is easier to find.
Who it isn’t for: anyone set on a Krups. You’d be trading the brand for easier availability.
What they cost right now
Prices:
- Krups Sensation (EA910E40): we couldn’t find a UK retailer listing this model with a price we could confirm. Krups UK’s page links to “Buy online” but shows no price, and Currys’ search didn’t bring it up. Amazon UK showed only a differently coded European version from a marketplace seller, which we’ve left out. See the Sensation at Krups UK
- Krups Evidence Eco-Design (EA897B40): check price at North x South; in stock with one- to two-day delivery on 3 Oct 2026. Basil Knipe Electrics had it at £349.00 at Basil Knipe Electrics, checked 3 Oct 2026, but labelled it as the last one. See the Evidence Eco-Design at North x South
- Krups Evidence One (EA895N40): out of stock at every retailer we checked on 3 Oct 2026: North x South, Direct Vacuums and Donaghy Bros. See the Evidence One at Krups UK
John Lewis, Argos and AO didn’t load for us, so they may stock one of these; check before you buy.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who needs a price promise or easy returns from a national chain. Check each independent retailer’s terms first.
Drinks and controls
The Sensation keeps things short. Krups UK lists four coffees (ristretto, espresso, long coffee and filter coffee) plus hot water, and it can make two black coffees at once. The angled control panel uses light indicators, and you can set strength and length and save two favourites.
The Evidence models go further. Krups UK lists the Evidence Eco-Design with eight one-touch options: ristretto, espresso, long coffee, americano, cappuccino, latte macchiato, café latte and hot water. You can add an extra shot and save two favourites. The Evidence One goes furthest, with 12 recipes and 17 drink options in Krups’ count, including three tea settings, an XL OLED screen with coloured touch controls and space to save up to 12 drinks.
All three share five grind settings on a metal conical burr grinder, three temperature levels and a 15-bar pump, according to Krups UK.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants fine control over the grind. Five settings is a narrow range compared with many rivals.
Milk: steam nozzle or one-touch
This is the real dividing line. The Sensation has a manual steam nozzle. You fill a jug, hold it under the nozzle and froth the milk yourself, which takes a little practice but lets you choose the texture.
The Evidence models use what Krups calls Milk Advanced Technology. Milk is drawn through the system and foamed straight into the cup, and both Evidence models can make two cappuccinos or lattes at the same time. Krups UK lists an automatic cleaning programme for the Evidence One’s milk system, and says the Eco-Design’s milk system detaches for rinsing.
If you’re new to frothing by hand, our guide to the best milk frothers covers cheap standalone options that can pair with a Sensation.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants less cleaning. A one-touch milk system has more parts to rinse than a steam nozzle.
Tank, size and build
Krups UK lists a 1.7-litre tank on the Sensation and 2.3 litres on both Evidence models, with a 260g bean hopper on all three. Power is 1,450W across the board. The Evidence spouts are taller, according to Krups: up to 15cm on the Evidence One and 15.8cm on the Eco-Design, against 13cm on the Sensation, which matters if you use tall latte glasses. Donaghy Bros lists the Evidence One at 24cm wide, 37.2cm deep and 36.3cm high.
Krups says the Sensation and the Evidence Eco-Design are made in France, guaranteed for two years and repairable for 15 years. The Evidence One is repairable for 10 years. The Eco-Design also uses 62% recycled plastic by plastic weight, according to Krups, and is certified for hygiene by TÜV Rheinland.
All three rinse automatically and use a cleaning tablet a few times a year. Our Krups Sensation calc mode guide explains what the descaling warning means and how to clear it.
Who it isn’t for: anyone with a narrow gap under wall cupboards. Leave room above for filling the hopper.
Which one to buy
If you want milky coffee without effort and can buy from an independent, the Evidence Eco-Design is the pick of these three today: it’s in stock, it does one-touch cappuccinos for two, and it carries Krups’ 15-year repairability promise. If you want a wider menu and a proper screen, the Evidence One is the better machine on paper, but you’ll need to wait for stock.
The Sensation suits espresso and long-coffee drinkers who don’t mind frothing milk by hand, though we couldn’t confirm where to buy one in the UK on 3 Oct 2026.
For more Krups options, see our Krups Intuition Experience review, or compare wider choices in our guide to the best bean-to-cup machines under £500.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants big-name retailer support. Philips and De’Longhi machines were much easier to find at the big UK retailers when we checked.
Downsides
- Availability: the Sensation had no verifiable UK price and the Evidence One was out of stock everywhere we checked.
- Grinder range: five grind settings on all three.
- Sensation: no one-touch milk drinks and a smaller 1.7-litre tank.
- Evidence: more milk parts to clean; the only in-stock model came from small independents.
