This Krups Intuition Experience review covers the Krups Intuition Experience+ EA877D40, a stainless steel bean-to-cup machine with a colour touchscreen, 21 one-touch drinks and up to eight user profiles, according to Krups UK. It’s harder to buy than most machines we cover: on 3 Oct 2026, Krups UK’s product page showed no price, Currys’ search didn’t list it, and Costco UK listed it at £699.99 but out of stock. We haven’t tested this in person. Our verdict is based on Krups UK’s specs, the UK retailer listings we could check, and Stuff’s review (August 2024). Read how we compare.

Krups Intuition Experience review: the short answer

Consider the Intuition Experience+ if you want a large menu of hot and cold drinks at one touch, settings saved for up to eight people, and a quiet machine. Stuff’s reviewer found it the quietest bean-to-cup machine they’d used.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants to switch between regular and decaf. It has one bean hopper, and Stuff listed that as its only con.

Skip it for now if you need a machine this week. We couldn’t find it in stock at a UK retailer we could check on 3 Oct 2026.

Who it isn’t for: anyone on a budget under £500. Our guide to bean-to-cup machines under £500 is a better starting point.

What it costs right now

These are the listings we found:

John Lewis’s site didn’t respond and Argos blocked our checks, so neither is included. If you find it elsewhere, check the code is EA877D40 and that it’s sold new.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants an easy price comparison. Availability is patchy.

Drinks and profiles

Krups UK lists 21 one-touch recipes:

  • Black coffee: ristretto, espresso, lungo, long coffee, doppio, americano, filter coffee, jug and espresso macchiato.
  • Milk drinks: cappuccino, Italian cappuccino, latte macchiato, frothy milk, caffè latte, flat white and iced latte.
  • Cold coffee: nitro coffee and chilled coffee.
  • Tea settings: green tea, black tea and herbal tea, which use hot water.

Krups’ feature copy also mentions a frappé, but its recipe list doesn’t include one. Stuff explains that the “nitro” coffee doesn’t use nitrogen; the machine aerates cold coffee through the milk system instead.

You can customise and save seven recipes to each of up to eight profiles, according to Krups UK. Krups lists three temperature levels and a fourth intensity level for stronger coffee.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who drinks one coffee a day. You’d be paying for a menu you won’t use.

Milk system

Krups UK lists what it calls Milk Advanced Technology with one-touch cappuccino. Its box list includes a milk tube but no milk jug, and Krups UK sells a Krups XS804000 milk pot separately (£20.00 at Krups UK, checked 3 Oct 2026). Stuff describes a detachable milk carafe you can keep in the fridge between uses, so check what’s included before you buy.

Krups lists automatic rinsing for the milk system, but its spec table gives cleaning for the milk system as manual. In its FAQs, Krups suggests rinsing the milk connector by hand after each milk drink.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants a tube-free milk system. Expect to rinse parts after milk drinks.

Grinder, noise and controls

Krups UK lists a metal conical burr grinder and a 250g bean container, and describes the Intuition Experience+ as the quietest bean-to-cup machine it has designed. Stuff agreed it was very quiet, though it found the machine took its time making drinks.

The colour touchscreen and what Krups calls Intuitive Light Indicators guide you through drinks, refills and maintenance. Stuff found the touchscreen responsive and easy to navigate.

Who it isn’t for: anyone in a hurry. Stuff found it quick to start up but said it takes its time making each drink.

Water, size and maintenance

  • Water tank: 3 litres (Krups UK).
  • Pump and power: 15 bar and 1550W (Krups UK).
  • Size: Stuff lists 40 x 24 x 44cm and 9.23kg. Krups UK’s spec table doesn’t give dimensions.
  • Cup height: up to 14cm under the spout (Krups UK).
  • Maintenance: Krups lists automatic rinsing, cleaning and descaling reminders, plus a Claris Aqua filter, which it says should be replaced about every 50 litres or two months.

Who it isn’t for: anyone with a shallow worktop. Check the 44cm depth Stuff lists before ordering.

Downsides

  • Availability: not in stock at the UK retailers we could check on 3 Oct 2026.
  • One hopper: no easy way to switch to decaf, as Stuff noted.
  • Speed: Stuff found it takes its time making drinks, though it starts up quickly.
  • Milk cleaning: listed as manual for the milk system.
  • Mixed messages: Krups mentions a frappé that isn’t in its own recipe list.
