Krups Evidence One review: a bean-to-cup with a big drinks menu
Our Krups Evidence One review: two milky drinks at once and 12 recipes, including three teas. What Krups UK says, UK stock on 3 Oct 2026, running costs and who should skip it.

This Krups Evidence One review covers the EA895N40, a bean-to-cup machine built around a large drinks menu and a dual-cup function that can make two milky coffees in one go. We haven’t tested this in person. Our verdict is based on Krups UK’s product page and specification list, plus the UK prices and stock we could check on 3 Oct 2026. Read how we compare.
The short version: on paper it’s a well-equipped machine for households that drink a lot of lattes and cappuccinos. In practice, the hardest part on the day we looked was finding one in stock.
Krups Evidence One review: the short answer
Consider the Evidence One if you often make two milk drinks at once. Krups UK says it can brew two espressos or two milk-based drinks with one touch, and lists one-touch cappuccino for two cups. Add a 2.3-litre tank, a 260g bean container and 12 saved favourites, and it’s set up for busy mornings.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who needs a machine quickly. The only UK retailer price we could confirm was for a listing marked sold out.
Deciding between Krups models? Our Krups Evidence vs Sensation comparison explains how the Evidence range differs from Krups’ simpler Sensation, so we haven’t repeated that here. If you’re not sure a bean-to-cup machine is right for you, start with our guide to bean-to-cup machines.
What it costs and where to find it
Here’s what we found on 3 Oct 2026:
- North x South: check price at North x South. On 3 Oct 2026 the listing marked the machine as sold out and out of stock.
- Krups UK: no price shown. The Krups UK product page has a “Buy online” option that points you to retailers rather than selling the machine itself.
- Currys: when we searched Currys for the Krups Evidence, the only Krups machines in the results were Nespresso Vertuo pod machines, with no Evidence models.
- Argos, AO and Amazon UK: Check current price. We couldn’t load these retailers’ results, so we haven’t included a price.
A sold-out listing tells you what one retailer was charging, not what you’ll pay. If you find the EA895N40 elsewhere, check the model code matches.
Who it isn’t for: anyone working to a firm budget who wants a choice of retailers. With so little stock around, there’s not much room to shop around.
Model code and colour
Krups UK lists the machine as the Evidence One EA895N40. North x South sells it under the same EA895N40 code but calls it simply the “Krups Evidence”. The Krups UK web address describes it as black, while its specification list gives the colour as Meteor Grey, so check the photos if the finish matters to you.
The Evidence One isn’t the only Evidence model. Krups UK also lists an Evidence Eco-Design (EA897B40) and an Evidence Milk (EA891D27), so make sure the code on any listing reads EA895N40 before you buy.
Drinks, milk and the screen
Krups UK says the Evidence One offers 12 recipes and 17 drink options. Its recipe list covers ristretto, doppio, espresso, long coffee and americano, plus milk drinks including cappuccino, latte macchiato, caffe latte and frothy milk. It also lists three teas: herbal, green and black. There’s a separate hot water function too.
Milk is handled by what Krups calls its Milk Advanced Technology, a one-touch system with a dual-cup option for white drinks. Krups UK says the same dual-cup function works for black coffee, so two espressos can come out at once.
You control it through an XL OLED screen with coloured touch controls. Krups UK says five drinks are available at one touch, and you can save your preferred settings for up to 12 drinks.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants app control. We didn’t see an app listed among this model’s features on Krups UK’s product page.
Grinder and coffee settings
The Evidence One uses a metal conical burr grinder with five manual grind levels. Krups UK lists three strength settings, three temperature levels and adjustable cup length, with a coffee dose that varies between 6g and 9g. For large coffees of around 220ml, Krups says the machine automatically grinds twice.
Krups markets the brewing side as Quattro Force technology, which it says covers grinding, tamping, percolation and drainage. It also lists a 15-bar pump and its Compact Thermoblock heating system, which Krups says keeps coffee hot from the first cup. Those are Krups’ own claims, and we haven’t been able to check them.
Krups’ FAQ advises against oily, caramelised or flavoured beans. So check the bag before you fill the bean container.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who likes to dial in a grind precisely. Krups lists five grind levels, so there’s less room for small adjustments than on machines with more steps.
Size, tank and cup height
Krups UK describes the Evidence One as compact, and lists:
- a 2.3-litre water tank with empty-tank detection
- a 260g bean container
- 1,450W of power
- a height-adjustable coffee outlet
- a maximum distance of 15cm between the coffee spout and the drip tray
That 15cm figure is worth checking against your tallest latte glass before you buy. We couldn’t find full dimensions or a weight on Krups UK’s page, so measure the space under your cupboards and compare it with the retailer’s listing.
Cleaning and running costs
Krups UK lists automatic rinsing and cleaning programmes, automatic rinsing and cleaning for the milk system, and automatic scaling detection with a descaling reminder. There’s a removable drip tray, and the welcome kit includes two cleaning tablets. You can also set the machine to switch itself on and off, and Krups lists an energy-saving mode. Krups says it uses 0.3W in off mode, which it reaches after 12 minutes.
The machine takes Krups’ Claris water filter. Krups’ FAQ says to replace the cartridge roughly every 50 litres or at least every two months. It also says you may not be able to run a manual descale in the first few months, because the machine decides when descaling is due.
Krups UK listed these accessories for the Evidence One:
- Claris filter cartridge F08801: £8.80 at Krups UK, checked 3 Oct 2026, shown in stock.
- Milk pot XS804000: £20.00 at Krups UK, checked 3 Oct 2026, shown in stock.
- Cleaning tablets XS3000F0: £10.40 at Krups UK, checked 3 Oct 2026, shown as unavailable.
- Liquid cleaner for the milk system XS900010: £24.80 at Krups UK, checked 3 Oct 2026, shown as unavailable.
Krups says the Evidence One is guaranteed for two years and can be repaired for 10 years.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants a machine that never asks for attention. Filters, cleaning tablets and milk-system cleaner all need replacing over time.
Downsides
- Hard to buy: the only UK price we confirmed was on a sold-out listing.
- No direct price from Krups UK: you’ll need to find a retailer.
- Five grind levels: less room for fine tuning.
- 15cm spout height: may not fit very tall glasses.
- Some consumables were unavailable: Krups UK listed its cleaning tablets and milk-system cleaner as unavailable on 3 Oct 2026.
