This Ninja AutoBarista Pro review covers Ninja’s first fully automatic bean-to-cup machine. Unlike the Ninja Luxe Café, where you tamp and move the portafilter yourself, the AutoBarista Pro grinds, doses, tamps, brews and froths with one touch, according to Ninja. Ninja UK sells it as the AE1051UK and, with a 1.2-litre thermal carafe, the AE1052UK. Both were £949.99 and out of stock at Ninja UK on 3 Oct 2026. We haven’t tested this in person. Our verdict is based on Ninja UK’s and Currys’ listings, the named reviews by Trusted Reviews (AE1052UK, July 2026) and T3 (June 2026), and UK prices checked 3 Oct 2026. Read how we compare.

Ninja AutoBarista Pro review: the short answer

Buy the AutoBarista Pro if you want espresso, milky coffee, filter coffee and cold brew at one touch, and you like to switch between beans, such as regular and decaf. Ninja lists two interchangeable 340g hoppers, and Trusted Reviews found the machine leaves no beans in the grinder when you swap.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who needs a coffee fast. T3 found two to three minutes of grinding and preparation before anything started pouring.

Skip it if you enjoy making espresso yourself. The point of the AutoBarista Pro is that it takes those decisions away.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants to dial in shots manually. The Ninja Luxe Café keeps you more involved for less money.

What it costs right now

These are the prices we found on 3 Oct 2026:

Trusted Reviews and T3 both gave a UK price of £899.99 when they reviewed it, so the price has gone up since launch.

The standard (non-Pro) AutoBarista AE1001UK was in stock; check price at Ninja UK, and in stock at £849.99 at Currys, checked 3 Oct 2026.

Who it isn’t for: anyone with a budget under £800. Our guide to bean-to-cup machines under £1,000 has more options.

Grind IQ and the automatic espresso

Ninja says Grind IQ dials in the grind and dose from 50 grind size settings, with a built-in scale for weight-based dosing and an integrated tamper. T3 explains that it pulls a shot, checks the flow rate and pressure, then adjusts the grind, repeating over two or three shots. You can still offset the grind by up to two steps either way, according to T3.

Trusted Reviews found the calibrated espresso near-perfect, with a thick crema. T3’s first cappuccino was watery despite calibration, though results improved after switching beans and running the sequence again.

You run Grind IQ when you first set up and whenever you change beans. T3’s calibration used around 200g of beans.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who buys expensive speciality beans in small bags. Calibration eats into them.

Drinks and profiles

Ninja lists 13 one-touch drinks: americano, cappuccino, cold brew, cold-pressed, cortado, caffè crema, filter coffee, espresso, flat white, hot water, iced latte, latte and lungo. You can save your strength, size, temperature and froth style to one of two user profiles, according to Ninja.

On the AE1052UK, Currys lists filter coffee sizes from 175ml to 1.1 litres, and the box includes a 1.2-litre thermal carafe.

Who it isn’t for: households with more than two regular coffee drinkers who each want a saved drink. There are only two profiles.

Milk

Ninja’s FrothPerfect system froths in a jug, with 5 presets: steamed milk, thin froth, thick froth, extra-thick froth and cold foam. You pour the milk yourself. Trusted Reviews liked that, because it lets you match the drink to your cup, and found oat milk frothed impressively. It also found the results sensitive to how much milk you put in the jug.

Ninja says the steam wand purges itself and the machine has an auto rinse cycle.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants a fully hands-off milk drink in the cup. You still fill the jug and pour.

Cleaning, size and specs

  • Cleaning: Ninja says the drip tray, milk jug, bean hopper and puck bin are removable and dishwasher safe. Trusted Reviews notes the brew unit slides out from the side for cleaning.
  • Size: Ninja lists 45.24cm long, 27.13cm wide and 40.18cm high. Trusted Reviews found it compact for a bean-to-cup machine.
  • Weight: Ninja lists 18.71kg for the AE1051UK. Currys lists 20.23kg for the AE1052UK.
  • Water: Currys lists a 2.4-litre tank on the AE1052UK. T3 found it isn’t accessible from the front, so you pull the machine forward to refill it.
  • Power and pressure: 1650W (Ninja), and Currys lists 15 bar.

Who it isn’t for: anyone with the machine under low wall cupboards. Side refills mean you need room to slide it out.

Downsides

  • Availability: both Pro versions were out of stock at Ninja UK on 3 Oct 2026.
  • Price: £949.99, £50 more than the £899.99 launch price the reviewers quoted.
  • Speed: T3 found brewing slower than many rivals.
  • Bean use: calibration used around 200g of beans in T3’s review.
  • Consistency at first: T3’s first shot was watery; Trusted Reviews’ calibrated shots were excellent.
