Siemens EQ500 review: which EQ500 version to buy

Siemens sells the EQ500 in the UK as the classic, the integral and the iAroma, from £299 to £649 at Currys (checked 3 Oct 2026). Here's what separates them and which one makes sense.

This Siemens EQ500 review is really three reviews in one, because “EQ500” covers several UK model codes that differ in milk system, features and price. At Currys on 3 Oct 2026 we found the EQ500 classic (TP513GB9) at £299, the EQ500 integral (TQ513GB1) at £629.99 and the EQ500 iAroma (TP551G07) at £649, all shown as in stock. We haven’t tested this in person. Our verdict is based on Siemens UK’s product pages, Currys’ listings and UK prices checked 3 Oct 2026. Read how we compare.

Siemens EQ500 review: the short answer

Buy the EQ500 classic TP513GB9 if you want a Siemens bean-to-cup at a sensible price. At £299 at Currys, checked 3 Oct 2026, it costs less than half as much as the other two versions, and on Siemens UK’s figures it has the same 1.9-litre tank and 270g bean container as the integral. The catch is that Siemens UK now lists it as no longer available, so Currys’ stock may not last.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants an app or a milk container that clips on to the machine.

Choose the EQ500 integral TQ513GB1 only if a built-in milk container matters to you more than £330.99. Siemens UK describes it as having an integrated milk system with a container, and Currys lists that container at 700ml. It also accepts ground coffee as well as beans, according to Currys.

Who it isn’t for: value hunters. On the specs Siemens publishes, the core machine is very close to the classic.

Get the EQ500 iAroma TP551G07 if you want Home Connect app control and a slightly bigger bean container. It was £649 at Currys, checked 3 Oct 2026.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants iced drinks. We didn’t find cold brew on any EQ500 page. For that, see our Siemens EQ500 vs EQ700 comparison.

What it costs right now

All prices below are from Currys, checked 3 Oct 2026. Siemens UK’s own pages don’t show prices; they point to retailers instead. John Lewis’s site didn’t respond to our check and AO blocked it, so we can’t give prices from either.

Who it isn’t for: anyone shopping by series name alone. Always check the full model code before you pay.

Classic vs integral: the milk system is the real difference

Siemens UK names the TP513GB9 the “EQ500 classic” and the TQ513GB1 the “EQ500 integral”. The difference it lists is the milk system:

  • Classic (TP513GB9): an integrated milk system with a hose. Currys lists a milk pipe and a connection hose in the box, so you draw milk from a carton or jug of your own.
  • Integral (TQ513GB1): an integrated milk system with a container. Currys lists a 700ml milk container in the box.

Siemens says both make latte macchiato, cappuccino, espresso macchiato and flat white at one touch without moving the cup, and Currys lists autoMilk Clean, which steam cleans the milk system after each drink, on both. The container suits people who’d rather not dip a tube into a carton, while the hose suits anyone who’s happy to use whatever jug or carton is to hand.

Beyond milk, Siemens lists the same 373mm height, 448mm depth, 1.9-litre tank and 270g bean container for both. The integral is wider at 318mm against 265mm, and heavier on Currys’ figures (8.9kg against 8.2kg). Currys gives the integral’s tank as 1.7 litres, which doesn’t match Siemens’ 1.9 litres, so check before buying if that matters.

Who it isn’t for: anyone paying extra for the integral for a bigger machine. On paper, it isn’t one.

Specs: drinks, grinder and cleaning

Drinks. Currys lists ten drinks on the classic: espresso, cappuccino, caffè crema, flat white, espresso doppio, latte macchiato, espresso macchiato, americano, hot water and milk foam. The integral’s list is similar. Siemens UK lists latte macchiato, cappuccino and milk foam as the iAroma’s one-touch milk drinks, and Currys adds espresso and caffè crema. All three are 15 bar and 1500W, per Currys.

Grinder and strength. Currys lists a ceramDrive grinder on the classic and integral, and Siemens describes an aromaDouble Shot option that grinds and brews twice for a stronger cup with less bitterness. Currys lists five strength settings on the integral and iAroma.

Cleaning. Every version has a removable brewing unit, per Currys. Currys lists a calc’n’Clean programme on the integral and iAroma, and a Brita Intenza water filter on the classic. Currys says some parts are dishwasher-safe, listing the container, milk tube, milk nozzle and drip plate on the classic. iAroma extras. The TP551G07 adds Home Connect via wi-fi, which Siemens UK confirms, and a 300g bean container. Siemens and Currys both describe oneTouch DoubleCup, which makes two drinks at once, including milk drinks. Siemens lists it at 378 x 272 x 472mm.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants a long, customisable drinks menu. The EQ700 goes further, as our EQ500 vs EQ700 page explains.

Downsides

  • Stock risk on the cheaper version. Siemens UK lists the classic TP513GB9 as no longer available.
  • A big price jump for the integral. It was £330.99 more than the classic at Currys on 3 Oct 2026, and the main difference Siemens lists is the milk container.
  • Conflicting tank figures. Currys says 1.7 litres for the integral, Siemens UK says 1.9 litres.
  • No app below the iAroma, and no cold brew on any version we checked.
  • Price gaps between codes move. Currys showed an expired Was price on the classic, so prices can swing.

Alternatives to consider

If none of the EQ500 prices suits you, these two rivals are worth comparing:

  • De’Longhi Magnifica Evo ECAM290.61.SB: £349 at Currys, checked 3 Oct 2026. Like the classic, its Currys page showed a Was price for a window that had ended. See it at Currys
  • Philips Series 3300 LatteGo EP3347/90: £569.99 at Currys, checked 3 Oct 2026. See it at Currys

At these prices, the EQ500 classic undercuts both. The integral and iAroma cost more than either.

Who it isn’t for: anyone set on Siemens for the matching look of other Siemens appliances. In that case, compare EQ500 codes rather than brands.
