Looking for the best decaf Tassimo pods mostly means choosing the drink size: a large Americano mug, a medium black coffee, or a short espresso. Tassimo’s UK decaf list showed four T DISC packs when we checked on 3 Oct 2026. We haven’t tested this in person. Picks below are based on Tassimo’s own shop listings, a Morrisons grocery check for the Kenco pack, and general decaf caffeine context from public health sources — not on taste tests. Best decaf Tassimo pods: the short answer
Buy Kenco Decaff Americano if you want the most coffee for the money and a larger cup. It was £5.70 at Tassimo UK, checked 3 Oct 2026, for 16 size-L cups, and £5.30 at Morrisons, checked 3 Oct 2026, for the x16 pack. That is about 36p a cup at Tassimo’s price, or about 33p at Morrisons, by our arithmetic.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants a short, strong espresso. Pick L’OR or Marcilla instead.

Decaf is not caffeine-free
Decaf coffee still contains a little caffeine. UK public-health and EFSA discussions of caffeine treat decaf as lower in caffeine, not caffeine-free. If you are cutting caffeine for medical advice you have been given, check the drink with your clinician rather than assuming a T DISC is caffeine-free. Milky decaf options
Tassimo’s decaf list on 3 Oct 2026 was all black coffee or espresso packs — no decaf latte or cappuccino combo discs showed on that category page. If you want milky drinks without much caffeine, options are limited: brew a decaf black disc and add your own frothed milk, or check whether Tassimo has added a milky decaf pack since our check. How a Tassimo brews a decaf disc
Decaf discs brew exactly like regular ones. Bosch’s spec sheet for the Tassimo My Way 2 explains that the machine’s Intellibrew system reads the barcode on each T DISC and sets the amount of water, the temperature and the brewing time to suit. So a size-L Kenco Decaff Americano and a size-S L’OR Decaffeinato get different amounts of water without you choosing anything. Bosch says the My Way 2 also lets you personalise the temperature, volume and intensity, which matters if you’d rather make a smaller, stronger cup from the Americano disc.
Who it isn’t for: anyone expecting those settings on every Tassimo. Check your own model’s manual for what it lets you change.
Recycling Tassimo pods
Used T DISCs don’t go in your household recycling bin. Tassimo says used pods are separated into aluminium, plastic and coffee grounds, and it describes itself as a founding partner of Podback, the UK’s free pod recycling scheme. Tassimo discs go in Podback’s green bag for plastic pods, which Podback says holds about 60 T DISCs. Drain any liquid first, but you don’t need to empty out the coffee. Tassimo says it adds Podback bags to orders from its website. You can also get bags at Morrisons customer service desks and drop them at Morrisons, or tip pods loose into the Podback container at a council recycling centre. Who it isn’t for: anyone without a Podback or Tassimo take-back point nearby — store discs until you can drop them off rather than putting them in the wrong bin.
Downsides
- Decaf choice on Tassimo UK is narrow compared with Nespresso Original-compatible capsules.
- Online-exclusive lines may not appear in supermarket aisles.
- Per-cup cost is higher than supermarket ground decaf in a cafetière.
- Decaf still has some caffeine.
