Kimbo coffee beans: the Neapolitan espresso blends sold in the UK
Every bag of Kimbo beans we found on Kimbo's UK shop, from Napoletano and Intenso to the decaf, Antica Miscela and the Sapiente line, with roast, bag size and price per kg.

Kimbo coffee beans come from a Naples roaster with an espresso-led range, and the one UK shop where we could confirm they’re sold is Kimbo’s own online store, Kimbo at Home. This page lists every bag of Kimbo beans we found there on 3 Oct 2026, what Kimbo says about each blend, what a kilo works out at, and how delivery changes the sums. We haven’t tested this in person. Our basis is Kimbo at Home’s product listings and shipping policy and Kimbo UK’s company story, all checked 3 Oct 2026, with no owner feedback, because we couldn’t link any. Read how we compare.
Kimbo coffee beans: the short answer
Buy Intenso 1kg if you want the lowest price per kilo in the range. It’s £17.54 at Kimbo at Home, checked 3 Oct 2026. Kimbo calls it a medium roast at 12/13 on its intensity scale and suggests it for black coffee, caffè crema and lattes.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who only gets through a small bag a month. A kilo is a lot to keep fresh once it’s open.
Choose Napoletano if you want the blend Kimbo ties most closely to Naples. It’s a dark roast at 10/13, £18.66 for 1kg or £5.91 for the 250g Espresso Napoli bag at Kimbo at Home, checked 3 Oct 2026.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who prefers a lighter, brighter cup. Kimbo describes it in strong, toasted terms.
Choose Espresso Barista or Aroma Gold if you want all-arabica beans. They share one listing description, with the 1kg bag sold as Espresso Barista (£21.37) and the 250g bag as Aroma Gold (£6.17), both at Kimbo at Home, checked 3 Oct 2026.
Who it isn’t for: anyone choosing on price per kilo. It’s the dearest of the core 1kg bags.
Skip a single small bag if you’re paying delivery. One 250g bag plus £7 delivery costs more per kilo than any blend in the range.
Who it isn’t for: anyone spending over £50 in one order, who gets free delivery anyway (outside the excluded postcodes).
The range: what Kimbo says about each blend
Kimbo gives most of its beans a roast level and an intensity number out of 13. The two don’t always move together, which is worth knowing. Intenso is a medium roast at 12/13, while Napoletano is a dark roast at 10/13. So “intensity” on Kimbo’s pages isn’t just a measure of how dark the roast is.
- Napoletano (1kg) and Espresso Napoli (250g). Same description, different bag sizes. Kimbo says it comes from the old Neapolitan espresso tradition and describes a strong cup with toasted notes, a hint of spice and a long finish. Listed for espresso, caffè latte, cappuccino and latte macchiato.
- Intenso (1kg and 500g). Kimbo describes it as strong and enveloping, with spice notes, lasting crema and a full body.
- Espresso Barista 100% Arabica (1kg) and Aroma Gold 100% Arabica (250g). Kimbo describes floral acidity and a toasted-bread sweetness. Listed for espresso and the same milk drinks as Napoletano.
- Decaffeinated (500g). Arabica and robusta, medium roast, with a balanced cup and a hint of dried chestnut, according to Kimbo. It’s the only decaf in beans we found on the shop.
- Antica Miscela (500g). A newer dark roast at 12/13 that Kimbo links to the Rubino family’s own tradition. Its listed aromatic notes are malt, toast, chocolate, almonds and spices.
Who it isn’t for: anyone wanting to know the exact arabica and robusta split. Kimbo doesn’t give one for Napoletano, Intenso or Antica Miscela.
Sapiente: Kimbo’s small-bag specialty line
Sapiente is a separate line of 200g bags, each £12.49 at Kimbo at Home, checked 3 Oct 2026. At 200g, that’s £12.49 x 5 = £62.45 per kg, more than three times the price of a kilo of Intenso.
- Incanto: 100% arabica from Uganda, Panama and Colombia. Kimbo describes tropical fruit, berries and honey.
- Mistero: Ugandan and Brazilian arabica with Indian robusta. Kimbo lists biscuit, almond, hazelnut, caramel and vanilla.
- Stupore: sold as 100% fine robusta. Its own product page repeats Mistero’s description word for word, which looks like a listing slip. Kimbo’s Combo listing describes Stupore separately, with dark cocoa, molasses and winter spices.
The Sapiente Combo (one bag of each) is £39.99 at Kimbo at Home, checked 3 Oct 2026. Three single bags at £12.49 come to £37.47, so on that day the bundle cost £2.52 more than buying them separately.
Who it isn’t for: anyone filling a bean-to-cup hopper every week. These are small bags priced for trying, not for everyday use.
Buying Kimbo coffee beans in the UK: delivery changes the maths
Kimbo at Home’s shipping policy says standard delivery is from £7 an order to mainland UK, and orders over £50 (before shipping) go free. The free delivery excludes the Highlands and parts of Aberdeenshire, Falkirk and Perthshire, and the shop doesn’t deliver outside mainland UK. It aims to despatch within two working days, sending orders Monday to Thursday.
Here’s what that does to the price per kilo, using Kimbo at Home prices checked 3 Oct 2026:
- One 250g Espresso Napoli bag: £5.91 + £7 = £12.91, which is £12.91 x 4 = £51.64 per kg.
- One 1kg Napoletano bag: £18.66 + £7 = £25.66 per kg.
- Three 1kg Intenso bags: £17.54 x 3 = £52.62, over £50, so delivery is free and the kilo price stays at £17.54.
- A mixed order: Napoletano 1kg (£18.66) + Espresso Barista 1kg (£21.37) + Antica Miscela 500g (£12.49) = £52.52, which also clears the £50 mark.
Ocado, Tesco, Waitrose and Amazon UK didn’t load for us when we searched them for Kimbo beans on 3 Oct 2026, so we’ve left out any prices from them.
Who it isn’t for: anyone in the Highlands or the excluded postcode areas who was counting on free delivery. Check the shop’s shipping policy first.
Which Kimbo beans suit which machine
Kimbo’s listings say which drinks each blend is meant for, not which machines. Here’s how those suggestions line up:
- Espresso machine with a grinder: Napoletano, Espresso Barista and Aroma Gold all list espresso. The 250g bags are a cheaper way to try one before buying a kilo, as long as you’re ordering enough to cover delivery.
- Bean-to-cup machine with milk: Napoletano and Espresso Barista list caffè latte, cappuccino and latte macchiato. Intenso lists lattes too.
- Long black coffee: Intenso is the one Kimbo suggests for black coffee and caffè crema.
- Moka pot: none of the bean listings mention moka. If that’s how you brew, our moka pot coffee guide covers beans and ground coffee pitched at it.
Who it isn’t for: anyone without a grinder. These are whole beans, so you’ll need one, or Kimbo’s ground coffee instead.
How Kimbo compares with Lavazza and illy
All three are big Italian roasters, but they pitch themselves differently. Kimbo leans on Naples, where it says it tests green coffee at its plant and roasts at 160°C to 250°C for 8 to 12 minutes. Kimbo UK’s story page says the Rubino brothers founded the company in 1963 and that it’s been second in Italy’s packaged coffee market since 1994.
For blend-by-blend detail and kilo prices against Lavazza, see our Kimbo vs Lavazza comparison. For the other big Italian name, our Lavazza vs illy page and our illy Classico beans review cover illy. One practical difference stands out: we couldn’t confirm Kimbo beans at any supermarket we checked, while our Kimbo vs Lavazza page found Lavazza beans at Morrisons on the same day.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants beans they can pick up with the weekly shop.
Things to know before you buy
- Delivery costs. £7 from Kimbo at Home under £50 can almost double the price per kilo of a small bag.
- No roast dates. None of the listings we read gave a roast date or best-before. Kimbo says its whole beans are packed in a protective atmosphere.
- Intensity isn’t roast. A 12/13 medium roast and a 10/13 dark roast sit side by side in the range.
- Listing slips. The Stupore page repeats Mistero’s description, and the Antica Miscela bean page sits at a web address with “ground-226g” in it. Check the title and bag size before you order.
- Limited shops. Our checks couldn’t confirm Kimbo beans at any UK supermarket or Amazon UK.
For other brands’ beans, our coffee beans hub lists the ones we’ve covered.
From the maker: Kimbo’s Italian site (in Italian) bills it as “il caffè di Napoli”, Naples coffee, checked 3 Oct 2026.

Verdict
Kimbo coffee beans range (Napoletano, Espresso Napoli, Intenso, Espresso Barista / Aroma Gold, Decaffeinated, Antica Miscela, Sapiente)
