Starbucks coffee beans in the UK: where to buy them and which roast to pick

Starbucks' UK at-home range by roast, why whole beans are hard to find in UK supermarkets, what Amazon UK listed on 3 Oct 2026, and which roasts suit bean-to-cup or cafetière.

Starbucks coffee beans are surprisingly hard to buy in the UK. Starbucks’ own UK at-home site lists pods, instant coffee and concentrates, plus one ground coffee, but no whole-bean bags, and the two supermarkets we could check on 3 Oct 2026 had none either. This guide covers Starbucks’ roast range, where whole beans were listed (Amazon UK), and which roast suits which machine. We haven’t tested this in person. Facts come from Starbucks at Home’s UK site and retailer checks on 3 Oct 2026. Read how we compare.

Starbucks coffee beans UK: what Starbucks sells for home

On 3 Oct 2026, Starbucks at Home’s UK site listed these formats:

  • Starbucks by Nespresso pods
  • Starbucks by Nescafé Dolce Gusto pods
  • Premium instant coffee
  • Coffee Craft liquid concentrates
  • One ground coffee: Sunsera Blend

It didn’t list a whole-bean format. That doesn’t mean Starbucks beans don’t exist in the UK, but they aren’t part of the range Starbucks promotes here.

Pods are easy to find: Morrisons had Starbucks by Nespresso House Blend, 36 pods, at £9.25, checked 3 Oct 2026. If you use a pod machine, our Starbucks Nespresso pods and Starbucks Dolce Gusto pods pages cover the main UK range.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants to buy beans direct from Starbucks. We didn’t find any sold on its UK site.

The three Starbucks roasts

Starbucks groups its coffees into three roast levels on its UK site. The coffees it lists under each (mostly as pods in the UK) include:

  • Blonde Roast: the lightest. Blonde Espresso Roast, Sunny Day Blend and Single-Origin Guatemala.
  • Medium Roast: House Blend, Breakfast Blend and Single-Origin Colombia.
  • Dark Roast: Espresso Roast, Caffè Verona, Italian Style Roast and Single-Origin Sumatra.

The names carry over to the bean bags sold elsewhere, so the roast you like in a pod is a fair guide to the bag to buy.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants detailed tasting notes. Check the individual product page for those.

Where to buy Starbucks coffee beans in the UK

Supermarkets

  • Morrisons: no Starbucks whole beans or ground coffee in our searches on 3 Oct 2026, only pods, instant and drinks.
  • Sainsbury’s: the same. Starbucks pods, instant sachets and iced drinks, but no beans.
  • Tesco: blocked our checks, so we can’t say.

Amazon UK

Amazon UK listed several Starbucks whole-bean bags on 3 Oct 2026:

  • Espresso Roast, dark roast, 450g: Check price at Amazon
  • Single-Origin Colombia, medium roast, 4 x 450g: Check price at Amazon
  • Pike Place and Blonde Espresso Roast, 4 x 450g: Check price at Amazon
  • Blonde Espresso Roast, 4 x 450g: Check price at Amazon
  • Espresso Roast ground, 6 x 200g: Check price at Amazon

All on Amazon UK, checked 3 Oct 2026. The same search also showed imported US bags, often 12oz or 18oz with long delivery times and much higher prices per kilo, so check the size, seller and delivery date.

Who it isn’t for: shoppers who’d rather not use Amazon. On our checks, it was the only UK retailer listing Starbucks beans.

How to check a Starbucks listing on Amazon

A few checks before you buy:

  • Pack size. The UK listings in our search were 200g or 450g bags. US imports are sold in ounces (12oz is about 340g), so compare the price per kilo, not per bag.
  • Seller and delivery. Some listings in our search showed a delivery charge and a wait of two to three weeks, a sign of an import.
  • Whole bean or ground. Several listings mix both in one search. Check the title says whole bean.
  • Best-before date. Ask the seller or check the listing if it isn’t shown.

Who it isn’t for: anyone in a hurry. Imports can take weeks.

Is it worth it?

Amazon was the only UK retailer we found listing Starbucks beans, so check price at Amazon and compare the price per kilo with the big Italian brands in UK supermarkets. Lavazza Qualità Rossa was £22.50 a kilo at Sainsbury’s on 3 Oct 2026, and supermarket own-label espresso beans were £14.25 a kilo. Our best value coffee beans guide compares the cheaper end.

If you specifically like the Starbucks flavour, the 450g bag is the simplest way to try it before buying a multipack.

Who it isn’t for: anyone choosing purely on price.

Which Starbucks roast for which machine?

  • Bean-to-cup or espresso machine: Espresso Roast (dark) or Blonde Espresso Roast (light), both named for espresso. See our bean-to-cup machines hub.
  • Cafetière or filter: a medium roast such as Single-Origin Colombia or House Blend, ground coarser.
  • Milk drinks: a darker roast such as Espresso Roast tends to come through milk better than a blonde.

Who it isn’t for: pod machine owners, who are better served by Starbucks’ own pods.

Downsides

  • Not in the supermarkets we checked.
  • Amazon listings vary. Prices, sellers and pack sizes change, and some are imports.
  • More expensive per kilo than supermarket Italian blends.
