Nespresso Creatista Uno review: the entry Creatista for milk drinks
The Creatista Uno was the simplest Nespresso machine with Sage's automatic steam wand. It's now discontinued in the UK. Here's what it offered and what to buy instead.

This Nespresso Creatista Uno review comes with a big caveat: the machine is discontinued. Sage UK’s page for the Creatista Uno (SNE500BKS) says the model has been discontinued, Lakeland lists it the same way, and Go Electrical showed it as out of stock on 3 Oct 2026. We haven’t tested this in person. This page is based on Sage UK’s published specs and the UK stock we checked on 3 Oct 2026, so you can judge a second-hand or old-stock Uno, or pick a current alternative. Read how we compare.
Nespresso Creatista Uno review: the short answer
Buy a Creatista Uno only if you find one new and boxed at a sensible price and want the simplest Nespresso machine with hands-free milk steaming. Check the warranty before you pay, especially from a marketplace seller.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants a machine with long-term retailer support. Discontinued models can be harder to get help with.
Choose the Creatista Plus instead if you want the same idea, Original pods plus an automatic steam wand, in a machine you can actually buy. It was £349.99 at Currys for the black version, checked 3 Oct 2026, prices can change. Our Creatista Plus vs Pro comparison explains the range. Who it isn’t for: anyone on a tight budget. Even at that price, it’s a sizeable outlay for a pod machine.
Choose the Lattissima One instead if you’d rather have one-touch milk drinks for less. It was £209.00 at Currys in black, checked 3 Oct 2026, prices can change. See our Lattissima One review.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants latte art. The Lattissima One’s milk jug doesn’t give you the same texture control as a steam wand.
Price and stock right now
Prices:
- Sage UK: “This model has been discontinued”, with both listed versions marked sold out. See the Creatista Uno page at Sage UK
- Lakeland: listed as unavailable and discontinued. See the Creatista Uno at Lakeland
- Go Electrical: out of stock. See the Creatista Uno at Go Electrical
- Currys: not listed; its Creatista search showed only the Creatista Plus, Creatista Pro and Vertuo Creatista. Nespresso Vertuo Creatista: See it at Currys for Nespresso Vertuo Creatista (opens in a new tab)
We couldn’t load Nespresso UK, John Lewis or Argos. Because we couldn’t verify a current new-stock price anywhere, we haven’t given one.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants buyer protection from a big retailer. If you buy used, check the condition of the steam wand and ask whether it’s been descaled.
What the Creatista Uno offers
The Uno uses Nespresso Original pods, which means plenty of choice beyond Nespresso’s own capsules. Sage’s introduction to the machine says it makes eight espresso and milk recipes at a touch. Sage lists three programmable cup sizes of 25ml, 40ml and 110ml, covering ristretto, espresso and lungo, with a 19-bar pump and a ThermoCoil heater that Sage says is ready in three seconds.
Sage lists a 1.5-litre removable water tank, space for 12 used capsules, a removable drip tray, a programmable water hardness setting and auto-off after nine minutes. The box included a stainless steel milk jug and a tasting box of capsules. Sage lists the machine at 40.8 x 17.1 x 30.9cm and 5.2kg, built from metal and plastic, with a two-year warranty.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants large mugs from a single pod. Original pods top out at lungo size on this machine.
The automatic steam wand
This is the Uno’s reason to exist. Sage describes a fully automatic steam wand: you put the jug under it, choose a setting and it textures the milk without you holding it. Sage’s feature text mentions three milk temperature levels, and its spec table also lists three texture levels. The wand purges itself after use, which keeps cleaning down.
Because it’s a wand, you can use any milk and any amount the jug holds. The trade-off is washing the jug and wiping the wand after each milk drink. If you’d rather froth separately, our guide to the best milk frothers covers standalone options.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants fine control over milk. Sage lists eight texture levels and 11 milk temperatures on the Creatista Plus. Sage also lists the same three-second heat-up for the Plus, so moving up mainly gets you that finer milk control rather than faster coffee.
Descaling and care
Like every Nespresso machine, the Uno needs descaling, and setting the water hardness correctly helps it tell you when. Our how to descale a Nespresso Creatista guide covers the Creatista range, but check your own manual for the Uno’s exact button sequence.
Who it isn’t for: anyone who skips maintenance. A steam wand and heater both suffer if scale builds up.
Downsides
- Discontinued: no new stock we could confirm on 3 Oct 2026.
- No current price: we couldn’t verify one anywhere.
- Fewer settings: simpler milk options than the Creatista Plus.
- Cleaning: a jug and wand to rinse after every milk drink.
